The Sydney Bears have added Samuel Poole and Colby Shumak to their roster for the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season.
Goaltender Samuel Poole spent 2023 playing for the Adelaide Blackhawks in Ice Hockey SA’s Premier League where he recorded a save percentage of 0.830 and a 4.63 goals against average from 16 games.
Forward Colby Shumak spent the 2023–24 season playing the North Shore Warriors U17 Prep 2 in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League’s U17 division where he recorded six goals and 19 assists from 31 games. Prior to joining North Shore, Shumak had spent 2023 playing for the Liverpool Saints 17U in Ice Hockey NSW’s 17U League where he competed in 16 games, recording ten points.
