Sydney Ice Dogs re-sign Connor Dowell

The Sydney Ice Dogs have re-signed goaltender Connor Dowell for the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) season. Dowell is currently playing for the Reach Rebels in the 2024 East Coast Super League season where he has recorded a 0.814 save percentage and one shutout from three games.

Dowell served as a backup in three games for the Ice Dogs during 2023 with all three backing up Jakob Doornbos. Since making his league debut in 2022 he has competed in four AIHL games, averaging a save percentage of 0.702 and a 9.97 goals against average.

Dowell’s 2023 season was primarily spent playing for the Reach Rebels in the East Coast Super League where he posted a 0.825 save percentage from 17 games during the regular season and a save percentage of 0.870 from one playoff match. More recently he competed for the Sydney Sabres in the Australian Junior Hockey League’s 2023–24 season, playing in two games and recording a 0.763 save percentage.
