Day 8 of the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League regular season has finished with the Melbourne Ice defeating the Melbourne Mustangs 5–2 at the O’Brien Icehouse. With their win the Melbourne Ice extend their lead at top of the Hellyer Conference standings and the league’s combined standings, moving three points clear of the second placed Perth Thunder. In the Rurak Conference, the Newcastle Northstars remain at the top of the standings, two points clear of the second placed Brisbane Lightning. Competition resumes tomorrow with games in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Perth.
