The Brisbane Lightning have announced the signing of American defender Maxwell Roth for the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Roth spent the 2022–23 season playing for Worcester State University in the NCAA’s Division III where he scored seven goals and six assists from 23 games. Between 2018 and 2023 Roth has competed in five seasons with Worcester State, playing 93 games and recording 33 points.
