Round 2 of the 2014 AIHL season consisted of only one game with the Melbourne Ice defeating the Melbourne Mustangs 3-2 in a shootout, Matt Armstrong scoring the winning goal in front of a 1500 strong crowd. The number of games steps back up for Round 3 with five games being held next weekend. The Ice travel to Perth to play a double against the Thunder, the Adelaide Adrenaline head to New South Wales to take on the Newcastle North Stars and the Sydney Bears, and the Sydney Ice Dogs take on the CBR Brave in Canberra.
