Round 8 of the 2017-18 Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League season has finished with both the Melbourne Ice and Sydney Sirens picking up a win from the double header. The loss for the Sirens in game one is their first since February 2016 where they lost the AWIHL final to the Ice in a shootout. The Sirens remain on top of the standings, six points clear of the second placed Ice. Next week there are no regular season games, but the Sydney Sirens host the Perth Inferno in a two game exhibition series in Canterbury and Liverpool.
