2018 U20 World Championships: Australia finish with a loss

The Australian men’s national under-20 team have lost 1-6 to China in their final game of the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division III tournament. Findlay Wood was named best Australian player of the match and Aiden Sillato was named best Australian player of the tournament. In other games of the day Israel defeated New Zealand 5-0 and Bulgaria beat Iceland 3-2. Australia finish the tournament in fifth place, Israel finishes in first place and New Zealand finishes last. As a result Israel is promoted to Division II Group B for 2019 and New Zealand is relegated to Division III Qualification.

The Australian men’s national under-20 team have won their second game of the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division III tournament, beating New Zealand 6-3. Forward Findlay Wood was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day Iceland defeated China 2-1 and Israel beat Bulgaria 4-3. After two rounds Australia have moved up the standings into second place, trailing the leaders Israel by one point. The teams have a rest day today before returning on Thursday where Australia take on Israel.

2017 U18 World Championship: Australia beat Belgium

The Australian men’s national under-18 team have won their second game of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division II Group B tournament, defeating Belgium 5-1. Forward Findlay Wood was named best Australian player of the match after scoring four goals. In other games of the day the Netherlands defeated Iceland 5-1 and Spain beat Serbia 4-3. After the end of the second round Australia sit in second place on the standings, trailing Spain on number of goals scored. The teams have rest day today before returning on Thursday where Australia take on Spain.
