The Perth Thunder have announced the signing of Canadian goaltender Kristian Stead for the remainder of the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Stead spent 2022–23 playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) for the Knoxville Ice Bears where he recorded a save percentage of 0.912 across 34 regular season games and a 0.867 save percentage in his two playoffs matches. Between 2017 and 2023 Stead has competed in the NCAA’s Division I, the ECHL and SPHL.
