Australian Men lose to Israel in tournament opener

The Australian Men’s team have lost their opening game of the 2014 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament, losing to Israel 4-3 in overtime. Cameron Todd was named best Australian player of the game. After game one Australia is sitting in fourth place in the standings with one point, two points off tournament leader Belgium. Australia now play second place Estonia tonight in their second game of the tournament. In other games of the day Estonia defeated Iceland 4-1 and Belgium beat hosts Serbia 8-3.
