- The CBR Brave have announced 2014 Team Awards. Petri Pitkanen won the Most Valuable Player award, Stephen Blunden was named the teams best forward, Matt Harvey the best defender and Aaron Clayworth won the Players’ player and Coaches’ awards. Anton Kokkonen won he fan’s choice award, Mark Rummukainen won the John Lewis Memorial Award and Kai Miettinen was named the teams best under-23 player. - The Newcastle North Stars have also announced the winners of their 2014 Team Awards. John Kennedy won the Most Valuable Player award, Robert Starke was named the teams best forward, Ray Sheffield the most dedicated player and Matt Wetini was named the most improved player and won the Tony Huntly Award for Best Aussie Player, while assistant coach Joey Theriault won the Coaches’ Award.
