The Australian women’s team have won their first game of the 2015 IIHF Women’s World Championship Division II Group B tournament, defeating Belgium 3-0. Georgia Carson was named best Australian player of the mach. In other games of the day Mexico defeated Slovenia 3-0 and Spain beat Iceland 5-4 following a shootout. After the end of round three Australia remain in fifth place and are four points behind leaders Mexico. Competition resumes tomorrow after todays rest day with Australia taking on Mexico.
