Ice Hockey Australia have announced that the Australian women’s national team will take part in an exhibition tour of Canada in March/April 2016. It is being scheduled to coincide with the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship tournament being held in Kamloops, British Columbia. Nominations for team selection are currently open with applications set to close on 13 January.
The tour announcement comes two weeks after it was announced that Ice Hockey Australia had withdrawn the Women’s team from the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group B tournament which is being held in Ankara, Turkey from 29 February to 6 March.
