2019 World Championships: Australia defeats Serbia

The Australian men’s national team have defeated Serbia 3–2 in their second game of the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Robert Haselhurst was named best Australian player of the game. In other games of the day Spain beat Belgium 4–2 and Croatia defeated China 7–0. After the second round Australia have moved up into second on the standings while Spain continues to lead the competition. The teams have a rest day today and return on Friday where Australia will take on Spain for their third game of the tournament. The last time these two teams met was at the 2017 World Championships Division II Group A tournament where Australia won 5–3.
