Australians overseas: Jeremy Vasquez

Forward Jeremy Vasquez recently completed his second season with the Seahawks Hockey Club. Playing in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) he finished the 2019-20 season with 30 points from 48 games. Vasquez first started playing overseas in 2014 when he moved to Canada to play minor hockey with the Canadian International Hockey Academy. After three seasons he relocated to the United States and joined the EHL’s East Coast Wizards for the 2017-18 season before moving across to the Seahawks for the start of the 2018-19 season. Since 2017 Vasquez has played in 145 EHL games and recorded 65 points.

Locally Vasquez is a member of the AIHL’s Sydney Ice Dogs and a former member of the Sydney Bears. He is also a former representative of the Australian under-20 team having played at the 2019 World Championships. In the national championships Vasquez has represented New South Wales on multiple occasions in the Ginsberg and DeFris tournaments.
