The Australian Ice Hockey League have released a statement clarifying the status of the 2020 AIHL season. The moves comes after the Melbourne Mustangs appeared to announce the cancellation of the season. This however, according to the league, applied only to the Mustangs withdrawing from the 2020 competition. The league itself it still clinging to the hopes of a “substantially condensed 2020 schedule” when viable. The next update from the league is expected on 11 July with commissioner David Turik on the Off Ice, Together show.
