Former CBR Brave player Jesse Gabrielle has launched legal action against the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) in the Federal Circuit Court. In the case Gabrielle claims he was subjected to “homophobic comments, vilification and violence” while playing for the Brave during the 2019 season. It is alleged that after reporting these claims to an AIHL board member the league refused to register him for the 2020 season where he was expected to sign with the Melbourne Ice.
