Australia back on the men’s under-20 and women’s under-18 World Championship schedule

The Australian men’s under-20 national team and the Australian women’s under-18 national have been added back to their respective 2022 World Championship tournaments following a change in dates. Ice Hockey Australia had originally withdrawn the teams due to ongoing travel restrictions.

The 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division III tournament will now be held in July instead of the originally planned January. Australia will be part of the ten team tournament which also involves Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Chinese Taipei, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey. The tournament will be held in Queretaro, Mexico from 22 July to 31 July.

The 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division II tournament will now be held in June instead of January. Australia will be part of the ten team tournament which also involves Great Britain, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain and Turkey. The tournament will be held in Istanbul, Turkey from 27 June to 7 July.
