2022 Men’s U20 World Championships: Australia defeats Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Australian men’s national under-20 team have defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 12–1 in their opening game of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division III tournament. Forward Ben Handberg was named best Australian player of the match. In the other games of the day Turkey defeated South Africa 8–2, Israel beat Kyrgyzstan 8–1 and Chinese Taipei defeated Mexico in a shootout. Australia sits at the top of Group B while Israel leads Group A.

Australia takes on South Africa today for their second game of the tournament. The last time these two teams met was at the World Championships in 2017 where Australia won 6–1.
