The Newcastle Northstars have announced the departure of goaltender James Downie and defender Dash Quartarolo. Both players competed in their final game for the Northstars yesterday against the Sydney Bears. Downie finishes the 2022 AIHL season with a 0.883 save percentage and a 3.77 goals against average from twelve games. Downie now travels to the United Kingdom his second season with the Manchester Storm in the Elite Ice Hockey League. Quartarolo competed in eleven games for the Northstars, recording two goals and four assists. Quartarolo now returns to the United States where he will be playing for New England College in the NCAA’s Division III.
