The Sydney Ice Dogs have announced the signing of defender Nicholas Doornbos for the upcoming 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) season. Doornbos is currently playing with the Steele County Blades in the United States Premier Hockey League’s Premier Division where he has two points from 29 games. Prior to joining Steele County Doornbos had spent 2022 playing in his second season with the CBR Brave and more recently was part of the Australian men’s under-20 national team at the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championships.
