The Perth Thunder have announced the signing of Canadian defender C.J. Garcia for the remainder of the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Garcia spent 2022–23 playing for CSM Corona Brasov in the Erste Liga, recording ten points from 45 games, and the Campionatul National de Seniori, recording 15 points from 21 games. Between 2016 and 2023 Garcia has competed in the Campionatul National de Seniori, ECHL, Erste Liga, Ligue Magnus and the U Sports system. He has also recently signed a contract to join the Manchester Storm of the Elite Ice Hockey League for the 2023–24 season.
