Perth Thunder’s Kristian Stead has signed a professional try-out (PTO) agreement with the Wichita Thunder ahead of the 2023–24 ECHL season. Stead competed in 18 games for Perth in 2023 where he recorded a save percentage of 0.915 and a goals against average of 2.75. If his PTO is successful, it will be Stead’s third season in the ECHL having previously been part of the Cincinnati Cyclones in 2022–23 and the South Carolina Stingrays in 2021–22.
