Perth Thunder forward Jordan Kyros has been named the AIHL Fans Local Player of the Year for 2023. Kyros won the award following a poll organised by Sean O’Connor on the AIHL Fans group page which saw him claim 15% of the 212 votes, 5% ahead of the second placed Vadim Virjassov. Kyros finished the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season with a total of 36 points from 26 games, his best season since making his league debut in 2012.
