The Sydney Ice Dogs have announced the signing of Dutch defenceman Mike Dalhuisen for the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Dalhuisen spent 2023–24 playing for Gyergyói HK in the Erste Liga and Campionatul National de Seniori. During the Erste Liga portion of his season Dalhuisen scored four goals and 14 assists from 39 games and during the Campionatul National de Seniori portion he competed in twelve games, scoring three goals and six assists.
Between 2004 and 2024 Dalhuisen has spent time playing in the American Hockey League, Campionatul National de Seniori, DEL2, ECHL, Erste Liga, ICE Hockey League, Metal Ligaen, NCAA’s Division I, Ontario Junior Hockey League, Slovak Extraliga, United States Hockey League, and the Vysshaya Hokkeinaya Liga. He is also a former representative of the Netherlands men’s national team having competed in 24 games between 2006 and 2016, including four World Championships.
