Perth Thunder has announced the signing of Canadian-Jamaican forward Kolby Johnson for the 2025 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Johnson spent 2024–25 playing for the Pensacola Ice Flyers in the SPHL and playing on loan in the ECHL for the Worcester Railers. With Pensacola, he played three games and scored one goal. With Worcester, he recorded two goals and two assists over 34 games.
Between 2013 and 2025, Johnson has spent time playing in the ECHL, Federal Prospects Hockey League, Manitoba Junior Hockey League, Québec Major Junior Hockey League, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, SPHL, U Sports system, and Western Hockey League. He has also represented the Jamaican national team on two occasions at the Amerigol LATAM Cup.
