Day 5 of the 2026 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) regular season has finished with wins for Brisbane Lightning, Melbourne Mustangs, and the Newcastle Northstars. With their win, the Newcastle Northstars increase their lead at the top of the standings to two points over the now second placed Melbourne Mustangs. Competition resumes on 26 April with games in Brisbane, Central Coast, Melbourne, and Sydney.

The match between the Melbourne Mustangs and Perth thunder also served as game one of Melbourne’s ANZAC Round which saw them wearing a themed jersey. In Brisbane, the Lightning celebrated their opening home round by wearing a one-off retro style jersey.
