2018 Women’s World Championships: Australia beat Mexico

The Australian women’s national team have defeated Mexico 4-1 in their second game of the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Captain Rylie Padjen scored two goals and was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day Great Britain defeated North Korea 3-1 and the Netherlands beat Slovenia 2-1. Australia moves up to fourth in the standings, three points behind the leaders Great Britain. The teams have a rest day today before returning on Tuesday where Australia take on the Netherlands. The last time these two teams met was at the 2017 World Championship Division II Group A tournament where Australia lost 1-3.
