2019 World Championships: Australia defeats Spain

The Australian men’s national team have defeated Spain 4–0 in their third game of the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Anthony Kimlin stopped all 37 shots against him and was named best Australian player of the game. In other games of the day Croatia beat Belgium 5–2 and Serbia defeated China 6–5. After the third round Australia have moved into first on the standings with Croatia sitting a point behind in second. Australia takes on China today for their fourth game of the tournament. The last time these two teams met was at the 2018 World Championships Division II Group A tournament where Australia won 3–1.
