2017 Women’s World Championship: Australia lose to Slovenia

The Australian women’s national team have lost their second game of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group A tournament, losing to Slovenia 0-3. Forward Kristelle Vanderwolf was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day the Netherlands defeated North Korea 4-2 and South Korea beat Great Britain 3-1. At the end of the second round Australia have dropped to fourth place, trailing the leader South Korea by three points. The teams have a rest day today before returning on Wednesday where Australia take on South Korea.
