2017 Women’s World Championships: Australia lose to South Korea

The Australian women’s national team have lost their third game of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group A tournament, losing to South Korea 1-8. Forward Amelia Matheson was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day the Netherlands defeated Slovenia 5-1 and North Korea beat Great Britain 3-2 in overtime. At the end of the third round Australia remain in fourth place, trailing the leader South Korea by six points. Australia takes on the Netherlands today in their fourth game of the tournament.
