2018 Women’s World Championships: Australia beat Slovenia

The Australian women’s national team have defeated Slovenia 4-2 in their final game of the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Forward Kate Tihema was named best Australian player of the match and goaltender Michelle Coonan was named best Australian player of the tournament. In other games of the day North Korea defeated Mexico 3-2 and the Netherlands beat Great Britain 4-0. Australia finishes the tournament in fourth place with six points. The Netherlands finish on top of the standings and are promoted to Division I Group B for 2019.
