2019 World Championships: Australia finishes third

The Australian men’s national team have lost 1–2 to Croatia in their final game of the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Wehebe Darge was named best Australian player of the game and Rob Haselhurst was awarded best Australian player of the tournament. In other games of the day China beat Belgium 4–0 and Serbia defeated Spain 3–2 in a shootout. Australia finishes the tournament in third place, one point behind the leaders Serbia and second placed Croatia. Serbia finishes first ahead of Croatia thanks to their head-to-head result and is promoted to Division I Group B for 2020. Belgium finishes the tournament in last place and are relegated to Division II Group B.
