The Newcastle Northstars have announced the re-signing of Canadian forward Francis Drolet for the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Drolet played 22 games for the Northstars in 2022, scoring 19 goals and 27 assists. Since making his league debut in 2019 he has competed in 51 AIHL games and recorded 101 points. More recently Drolet has been playing for HCMV Varese Hockey Mastini in the 2022–23 Italian Hockey League season where he recorded 57 points from 40 games.
