The Melbourne Ice have defeated the Adelaide Rush 5–2 in their semifinal game of the 2024 Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League playoffs at the O’Brien Icehouse. Adelaide and Melbourne had qualified for the match after finishing the regular season in second and third place respectively. Melbourne now advances to tomorrow’s grand final where they will take on the Perth Inferno who earlier won their semifinal against the Brisbane Lightning. Adelaide meanwhile moves on to the third-place game where they will play Brisbane.
