The Brisbane Lightning have released their roster for the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Comparing to the Lightning’s 2022 exhibition season roster it includes 17 new signings and 16 returning players while 18 players are released. The roster is still missing some of their import signings which are expected to be announced in the next few days.
The new players include Harley Anderson (from Brisbane Rampage), Anthony Barnes (from Brisbane Rampage), Aiden Catakovic, Glen Forbes-White (from Sydney Bears), Christian Fuschini, Alexis Girard (from Knoxville Ice Bears), Kasey Kulczycki (from Huntsville Havoc), Jordan McTaggart (from Brisbane Rampage), David Nelson, Nicholas Novysedlak (from Brisbane Rampage), Jaden Pine-Murphy (from Brisbane Rampage), Patrik Popovics (from Brisbane Rampage), Neil Pretorius (from Wisconsin Lumberjacks), Mikko Rippon, Maxwell Roth (from Worcester State University) and Anthony Santilli. Alexander Dvinyaninov was also signed at the start of the season but transferred to the Sydney Ice Dogs before playing a game.
While the dropped players are Antoine Aubin, Josh Derko, Lachlan Fixter, Alexandre Gracia, Quentin Greenwood, Geoff Hatch, Wylie Hodder, Patrick Ivens, Matthew Johnson, Dylan Kendrick, Eamon McKay, Cameron Miller, Ben Nayler, Grady Perlin, Sean Savage, Vesa Silvennoinen, Jordan Smith and Reino Uusi-Hakimo.
