Australian Women lose to Great Britain

The Australian Women’s team have lost their opening game of the 2014 IIHF Women’s World Championship Division II Group A tournament going down to Great Britain 2-6. Shona Green was named best Australian player of the game. After suffering the largest loss of the day Australia was placed last in the standings, equal on points with Poland. Australia now face the hosts Italy in their second game of the tournament. In other games of the day South Korea defeated New Zealand 2-1 after a shootout and Italy beat Poland 5-2.
