The Australian women’s national team have lost to Great Britain 3-5 in their final game of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Shona Powell was named best Australian player of the match and Amelia Matheson was named best Australian player of the tournament. In other games of the day North Korea defeated Slovenia 4-2 and South Korea beat the Netherlands 2-0. Australia finishes the tournament in last place and are relegated to Division II Group B for 2018, while South Korea finished in first place and are promoted to Division I Group B.
