The Newcastle Northstars have released their roster for the 2021 McCormack Cup. The majority of the roster is made up of players from the 2019 season. The six exceptions are Mackenzie Gallagher, Ethan Hawes, Thomas Munro, Ethan Spelde, Riley Tonks and Franki Vlasek. Hawes spent his 2020-21 season playing for the Islanders Hockey Club in the National Collegiate Development Conference. Tonks played his 2020-21 season in Sweden for Hässelby Kälvesta J18 in the J18 Division 1. Munro spent his 2019 AIHL season with the Melbourne Ice and Gallagher and Spelde spent the 2020 season with the Northstars East Coast Super League club. Gallagher, Tonks and Vlasek have also previously lined-up for the Northstars at the 2020 Hawkesbury Classic and Spelde has previously backed up the team during the 2018 AIHL season.
