The Newcastle Northstars have announced the signing of forward Zane Jones for the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Jones has spent the 2022–23 season playing for the Innisfail Eagles in the Chinook Hockey League where he scored five points from six games. Jones previously played two seasons for the Northstars in 2017 and 2018, competing in 35 games and recording 48 points. Since last playing for the Northstars Jones has spent time playing in the HockeyEttan and the Southern Professional Hockey League before moving across to the Chinook Hockey League.
