Australians overseas 2022–23: United States (part 1)

Continuing our look at the Australian players who were competing overseas during the 2022–23 season. Today is Part 1 of 6 featuring Australians in the United States.

Declan Bronte: First season with Salem State University after spending the previous two with the Connecticut Chiefs. Playing in the NCAA’s Division III Bronte competed in two games and finished with a –2 plus/minus.

Tyrone Bronte: Second season with Michigan Tech. Playing in the NCAA’s Division I Bronte recorded three goals and an assist in his 32 games.

Jacob Cleland: First season with Bridgton Academy after spending 202122 at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. Playing in the United Tier 1 Hockey League’s U18 Division Cleland competed in eight games.

Nicholas Doornbos: First season in the United States. Playing for the Steele County Blades in the United States Premier Hockey League’s Premier Division Doornbos recorded two assists and 18 penalty minutes in his 29 games.

Ben Harpur: First season with the New York Rangers organisation after spending the previous three with the Nashville Predators. Harpur played 42 games for the Rangers where he recorded a goal and five assists. With their American Hockey League affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, Harpur competed in 17 games, scoring three goals and two assists. On 26 January he signed a two-year extension with the Rangers which will run through the 2024–25 season.

Chris Harpur: Second season with the Orlando Solar Bears. Playing in the ECHL Harpur recorded two goals, nine assists and finished with a –8 plus/minus from his 72 games.
