Adelaide Rush defender Candice Mitchell has retired from the Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) following the end of the 2023–24 season. Mitchell has been part of the league since its formation in 2006 as a showcase series, playing for the Adelaide Assassins, Adelaide Adrenaline, and Adelaide Rush. She has since gone on to play over 100 AWIHL games and with the club won the league championship on six occasions between 2006 and 2012. Mitchell is also a former member of the Australian women’s national team having competed in seven World Championships between 2000 and 2013.
