2024 Women’s World Ranking: Australia remains steady at 31st

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) have published their 2024 World Rankings for the senior women’s national team program which sees Australia retain their place at 31st overall. The World Ranking is based on the performance of the last four World Championships and the latest Winter Olympics tournament. It however also makes allowances for countries who have been unable to participate, such as Russia which is currently expelled from IIHF competition. In 2024, 44 countries and one region participated in the Women’s World Championships with Canada claiming gold in the Championship division and retaining their number one ranking. In the last ten years, Australia’s best ranking has been 27th which they held in 2017 and their lowest was 33rd in 2022.
