The Sydney Ice Dogs’ Strat Allen has gained his Australian permanent residency. The Canadian native has been playing as an import for the Ice Dogs since 2015. The permanent residency now allows Allen to play as a local for the club. For more information see the announcement from the club.

– The Ice Dogs have announced the re-signing of forward Strat Allen for the upcoming 2016 season. The Canadian played in 14 games for the club last season, scoring eight goals and four assists, before his season was cut short due to injury. Following tonights Wilson Cup opener both the Sydney Ice Dogs and the Sydney Bears have revealed some new player signings as well as a good majority of returning players for the Sydney Bears.
New signings for the Sydney Ice Dogs:

- Strat Allen – Canadian centre who has previously played for Queens University.
- Alec Stephenson – from the Sydney Bears. Previously played for the Ice Dogs in 2012 and 2013.

- Ilman Lee – from the ECSL’s Blueline Bombers. Represented Australia at the 2015 IIHF World U20 Championships.
