Ice Hockey Australia has released the roster for the Australian men’s national team which will compete at the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament. The competition will take place from 29 April to 5 May 2025 in Belgrade, Serbia with Australia competing against Belgium, Israel, the Netherlands, Serbia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Fourteen changes have been made to the team compared to the 2024 World Championships roster. Mackenzie Bolger, Nathan Cachia, Ellesse Carini, Daniel Chen, Riley Langille, Maxim Lyashenko, Morris O’Handley, Neil Pretorius, Thomas Steven, and Alexandre Tétreault make their senior World Championship debut in 2025. Zachary Boyle, Robert Malloy, Kai Miettinen, and Beau Taylor all return having missed out on selection in 2024. Miettinen last competed at the World Championships in 2018, Boyle in 2019, and Malloy and Taylor in 2023.
The fourteen players not returning for 2025 include Strat Allen, Mackenzie Caruana, Nick Christensen, Jakob Doornbos, Julian Fodor, Mitchell Henning, John Kennedy, Bayley Kubara, Jordan Kyros, Michael McMahon, Daniel Pataky, Vadim Virjassov, Alexander Wardlaw, and Jamie Woodman.
