The Sydney Bears have released their roster for the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Comparing to the Bears’ 2022 roster it includes 19 returning players and 12 new signings while 23 players are released.

The new players include Dane Brumm, Ace Cowans (from EV Lindau), Hayden Dawes (from Melbourne Ducks), James Downie (from Newcastle Northstars), Adam Kimbley, Joshua Lammon (from Kansas City Mavericks), Marc McNulty (from Kansas City Mavericks), Jake Pappalardo (from Birmingham Bulls), Michael Schlamp, Shawn Rooke, Thomas Steven (from Kungälvs IK) and Lukas Vaic (from Sydney Ice Dogs).

While dropped players are Steven Adams (to Central Coast Rhinos), James Barton, Alan Becken, Ignacy Benjamin, Paul Bond, Riley Bryn, Joshua Cassar, Glen Forbes-White (to Brisbane Lightning), Hussein Ghoniam, Michal Glowka, Robert Haselhurst (to Perth Thunder), Gordon Kean, Brian Kim, Mika Laajunen (to Sydney Ice Dogs), Nathan Moncrieff, Ethan Oberman, Michael Poirier, Jake Ratcliffe, Paul Smith, Aidan Wardlaw (to Central Coast Rhinos), Alexander Wardlaw (to Central Coast Rhinos), Callum Wardlaw (to Central Coast Rhinos) and Connor Wardlaw (to Central Coast Rhinos).
