The Melbourne Mustangs have announced their roster ahead of the 2022 AIHL season. Brendan McDowell takes over the captaincy from Michael McMahon while Stephen Belic and Jordan Warren will serve as the two alternate captains.

Changes to the roster from the 2019 season see the addition of Maksim Astafiyev, Brendan Connors, Jacob Haley, Evan Khroustalev, Matthew Knox, Blake Martucci, Alex May, Dylan Morris, Spencer Nave, Alexander Rose, David Shumborski, Connor Sidari-Alley, Lukas Subrt, Jesse Thompson, Scott Timmins (from Eispiraten Crimmitschau), Jordan Warren, Ty Wishart (from Eispiraten Crimmitschau) and Sebastian Woodlands (from Adelaide Adrenaline).

While dropped are Matthew Anderson (to Melbourne Ducks), Bradley Apps (to Canterbury Red Devils), Jamie Bourke (to Melbourne Ducks), Damian Bright (to Brisbane Lightning), Tristan Darling (to Phoenix Thunder), Andrew Erzen (to Melbourne Ice), Thomas Flack (to Saint Michael’s College), Christian Isackson, Lee Lambert, Maxime Langelier-Parent, Michael McMahon (to Melbourne Ducks), Cooper Metcalf (to Melbourne Ducks), Kevin Nastiuk (to Stony Plain Eagles), Patrick O’Kane, Jordan Owens (to Brantford Blast), Jaden Pine-Murphy (to Brisbane Rampage), Troy Robertson, Matt Stringer and Parker Thomas (to Kenaston Blizzards).
